Banba is Ireland’s most Northerly Bakery and Cafe. They are a small family business, run from their home and bakery in Ireland’s most northerly town land, Ballyhillion, Malin Head, on the beautiful rugged Donegal coastline. They have one physical shop and one mobile coffee van.
Banba are a fun, quirky cafe that champion glitter ball decorations, fresh homemade baking and great Irish roasted coffee.
The brand had to remain true to their nature, elevate their image and speak to their special location and birth place.

Ériu won the contest. Her name then became Éire (Ireland). In Irish tradition, wherever Banba hails, she protects the land from invaders.
Banba’s Crown is Ireland’s most northerly mainland building. Built by the British in 1805 as a Napoleonic lookout tower it helped defend against a possible French invasion. Llyods Insurance Group of London also used it to contact ships – during both World Wars. It’s location was vital for daily shipping reports, as the coast line around Malin Head, is some of the most treacherous waters in the world.
Originally branded by me in 2008, this brand refresh is a personal project.
