My Web Design Process
-
This is probably the most important step in the branding process.
It’s where I really get under the hood about your business, its personality, your goals, your target market(s), your competition and talk around any initial ideas we may have.
-
Once I have completed my research, I will use my learnings to inform a design direction(s). These will cover example styles of logos, typography, colour, etc. to give you a visual reference of where we could take your brand. I will share this presentation with you before we agree on a direction to pursue.
-
Now it’s the fun stuff. With the research and chosen design direction in hand, I begin my design process with complete efficiency ensuring I only explore ideas that align to our North Star. Here, I will generate ideas and select the one that’s most effective.
-
With the leading design chosen, I will deliver a comprehensive presentation detailing typography selection, colour choice, imagery treatment, etc. exemplified in industry specific mock ups to visualise how this design looks in your world. I will then share this presentation with you to support the feedback process.
-
By this point, you will have had a couple of days to sit with the work and share it around with other stakeholders to gather and consolidate your feedback. This is your opportunity to send over any amends, tweaks or considerations you’d like to see in the next round (if needed) via a dedicated form so nothing is lost in translation.
-
I address your feedback points and depending on the significance of the amends, I may organise another presentation to take you through the changes otherwise I will share over email with an appropriate amount of commentary. By now, we should be very close to sign off if we aren’t already!
-
Once design refinements are finalised, we'll seamlessly transition to the file handoff stage. Here, you'll receive all necessary logo files, brand identity guidelines, and visual assets organised for easy integration across your website, social media, and marketing materials. You’ll receive guidance and support to make your new visual identity stand out.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
The simple answer to that is, I don't as my approach to branding is much wider than that.
You've heard the saying "Your brand is not your logo" - so my process involves looking at your brand in its entirety.
If you are looking for just a logo then I can point you in the direction of websites that can help you.
-
Great design starts with a solid understanding of a business and its' strategy and it’s one of my core principles as a designer to use this in all my branding projects.
It's also the building blocks of an excellent brief, which in turn, leads to a more productive project outcome. There's less time spent on revisions, which means more money in your pocket! A win win all round :)

As a solo-designer I only have so many hands, and hours in the week. I like to give a minimum of six weeks for my basic branding package. This allows time for consultations, strategy calls and the space for me to create and present your brand at different stages in the process.
For my other two packages, extra time is added to accommodate the need to produce more support materials, build brand guidelines and handover your brand so you can work on it independently.
Ideally you would want to allow twelve to sixteen weeks for more sophisticated branding projects.

No, I only provide websites that are created in Sqaurespace.

Absolutely! I always break projects down into payment plans to (1) make the investment a little easier for you and (2) keep the project moving with regular payments. Your first payment is non-refundable and required to save your spot in my schedule.
Then, the rest of your payments will be spread out equally throughout the project. Please note that these payments are scheduled by date, NOT by milestones in the project. I do this to avoid delays and keep the project moving.
All of your payments will be made by electronic transfer.
-
I price every business individually. I take all the information you have presented me with and base my costs on what you need and for what stage your business is at.
If you're budget is too low I will recommend other avenues for you to take.
Websites on the other hand start from €1,500 for a brochure website and from €2,500 for an e-commerce website.

I work with some amazing contacts in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK in the areas of photography, videography and animation. Please note all are an extra cost across all packages and may need a separate budget.
-
Yes, absolutely! Every business is unique and will prioritise different extras over others. When it comes to implementing a new brand, for example, you will probably need some extras that are specific to you. If you require more than what’s included in each package I will cost them at your request.

If you live within the counties of Donegal, Republic of Ireland or Derry, Northern Ireland I am in a position to do a face to face meeting.
As I live so remote, I like to keep my car travel to an absolute minimum, so our meetings and communication will be done as much via Zoom or recordings where possible.
